Just Say No Casino, the group opposed to a Cedar Rapids casino
Vote Yes Linn County, the pro-casino campaign
One has to wonder if the investors of this casino did any research and exactly who these investors are! After doing my own research I found the casino that Mr. Gray would like to emulate is losing money.
“Gray also singled out the Rivers Casino, a downtown casino in Pittsburgh, Pa., adding that he envisioned that a Cedar Rapids casino will be “”urban, metro and upscale” not unlike the Pittsburgh one.”
“Ira Schulman is one unhappy property owner. Cedar Rapids needs a casino and Riverside needs some competition. Riverside does not pay out anyway so why should people go there?

Will smoking be allowed in the CR casino if approved/built?
If so, how does this square with the Governor’s “Healthiest State” initiative and the recent designation of CR as a “Blue Zone” city?
My vote will largely depend on the answer to this question.

Wow, if you are correct, I believe that would make the CR casino the only one in the state where I could not smoke. Can’t imagine that, but maybe you are correct.

Great Research! I was leaning a little to the ‘yes’ side for the vote but admittedly haven’t done much research yet. I’ll dig a little deeper and reconsider.
