We live in some dangerous times.  But, no one lives in more dangerous times than the revenue generating police who have to meet quotas.  The only reason it’s more dangerous for the police to continue business as usual is because there are video cameras everywhere.  We live in times where the police have been caught on tape screaming profanity at suspects, beating people up,  planting drugs, killing dogs, and even killing unarmed civilians.

Adam Kokesh is not just anyone.  He is well-known around the world.  He is a Youtube personality and did the video more on a dare than anything.  Adam Kokesh is an antiwar activist who made a video of himself loading a gun on Freedom Plaza.
I have been an Adam Vs. The Man listener for a couple of years.  I miss hearing him on his podcastAdam Kokesh is pro-constitution and antiwar.  Pro-peace and preaches the non violent principle. I don’t see what he did as a crime.  Loading a gun to make a video does not mean he moved around with the gun loaded.  I didn’t agree with the particular act of civil disobedience that he  was going to commit and did commit on July 4th at Freedom Plaza but I  understand it.  He has broken many unconstitutional laws by committing acts of civil disobedience. Adam claimed from a jail house interview that the drugs that were found at his home were planted in Adam’s house by the police when they raided it in Herndon, Virginia on July 9th when Parks Police arrested him with their SWAT team.
Adam Kokesh, an anti-war veteran activist used his first and second amendment rights on July 4, 2013, at Freedom Square, in Washington D.C.. Mainstream media outlets dub him a pro—gun activist and he is– he just isn’t as dangerous as government officials consider him.  Adam did not dump paint on Abraham Lincolns Memorial nor did he kill a minor yet he is facing five years in prison for making a Youtube video.  What a joke.  There is no way our tax money should pay for frivolous witch hunts.

Veterans for Peace have resolutions and in these resolutions one states there is a need for civil disobedience in these times.  VFP recognizes the value of non violent civil disobedience as a necessary part of the struggle for justice and peace in these desperate times understanding that there may be a high price to pay by individuals who decide to act.

CNN:  “District of Columbia Magistrate Judge Lori Parker said Kokesh “poses a danger” and went “out of his way” to violate the district’s laws.”
“Kokesh’s attorney, Peter Cooper, said after the appearance in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia that his client is making a “political statement,” but argued the government is doing the same thing “Their allegation about danger, I believe, is unwarranted,” Cooper said.” “He posted bond on Thursday for that charge, but “never saw the light of day” as police picked him up soon afterward, Cooper said.
Kokesh has a history of publicly airing his opinions. He was discharged from the Marines in 2007 for wearing his uniform during an anti-war protest.””In his now infamous YouTube video, Kokesh states: “We will not be silent. We will not obey. We will not allow our government to destroy our humanity.””
Then, loading shells into the shotgun, he looks into a camera, saying, “We are the final American revolution. See you next Independence Day.”

Next Independence Day people across the country will stand in protest of the Federal Reserve . I am as certain of this as I watch  prices increase on everything.  The Federal Reserve is not a government branch but is a privately owned company that has destroyed our republic for the last  100–years. Everything from the rising cost of food to the cost of war originates from The Federal Reserve.  All of our problems can be connected to the beast that prints money out of thin air!

FEMA pays city the cost to replace the Time Check Rec Center; city intends to use a school modular classroom this summer to serve the neighborhood

http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/FEMA-Rejects-Plans-for-Recreation-Center-in-Time-Check-177088741.html

Now they want to take the money from the recreation center that they neglected to clean out and put it across town! How about they build their own recreation center without taking the money from ours!

Eye on the Island

Two pieces of news on the flood-damaged Time Check Recreation Center:

At noon Tuesday, the office of Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, announced that the Federal Emergency Management will pay the city $1,638,155, which is the amount FEMA has determined is the cost to replace the building. Harkin’s office noted that “biohazardous conditions within the facility” at the time of the FEMA inspection convinced the agency that the flood-damaged building could not be renovated.

Also this week, the City Council is expected to approve an agreement with the Cedar Rapids Community Schools, which will let the city use the school district’s existing modular classroom at Harrison Elementary School as a community resource center from June 15 through Aug. 14. The resource center will serve as a temporary neighborhood center to serve some of the functions that the Time Check Recreation Center did.

Mr. & Mrs. Rogers Downtown District Neighborhood

It’s a Beuuutifull Day In Their Neighborhood

Not So For the Rest of Cedar Rapids Taxpayers

“The thought behind the talk is to turn the downtown into a seven-day-a-week, 24-hour-a-day neighborhood to use and spend time in, not to rush into and then flee once the workday is done.”

http://thegazette.com/2012/12/12/two-way-streets-four-way-stop-intersections-proposed-for-downtown-cedar-rapids/

Those in Cedar Rapids Downtown District work hard. They work hard thinking up ways to make their neighborhood better and scheming to make all the other neighborhoods pay for their dreams.

When you are stuck trying to get across Cedar Rapids by four way stop signs and backed up cars along nearly vacant bike lanes, don’t get mad. Get justice on election day. Throw out those who consider the rest of Cedar Rapids second class in all but tax assessments.

Cedar Rapids will smell a lot better if you do.

For CR Smells, truly it does.

“You’re a bad man. You’re a very bad man!”

“You’re a bad man. You’re a very bad man!”

“A concerned Mayor Ron Corbett met with our editorial board this past week.

He’s concerned about the low quality of public discourse, and contends that providing space on our opinion page for letters and columns depicting harsh misrepresentations of city decisions is a contributing factor.”

Todd Doorman, The Cedar Rapids Gazette, March 25, 2012

“Also on Tuesday we’ll launch major changes to online commenting at TheGazette.com. The new Daily Conversations section will feature three fresh conversations a day on topics of local interest that we believe people are or will want to talk about. Conversations will remain active for 72 hours, and then commenting will be closed. By the end of the week, we’ll have nine daily conversations at a time to choose from.
We’ll provide a little background and links to information on each topic to help users familiarize themselves with the conversation so they can offer insightful commentary. All comments will be moderated, meaning no comments appear until a moderator approves them. Moderation will be staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., so you’ll likely see a batch of comments post each morning from the overnight hours.”

Zach Kucharski, The Cedar Rapids Gazette, September 2, 2012

There is a monster loose in our community. It is not an individual. It is a group of individuals used to demanding and getting what they want.

They are spoiled. They are powerful. They are angry at twice being denied a tax they once had, but squandered.

Think only Pacific Institute positive thoughts about their city, especially its Downtown District. Only bad thoughts will be banished to the cornfield…..for now.

Keep your thoughts positive. Keep voting until you vote right. Keep your wallet open. Prepare yourself to once more enter:

The Tax Blight Zone

Is Cedar Rapids, Iowa Dragging America down with its Expensive Facelift?

In June, 2008 the “city that would never floodwent 12 feet under and has dragged the rest of the country down with it ever since! The city invests millions of dollars on its east side leaving the west side without flood protection or investment.

City leaders took advantage of FEMA funding to turn our disaster into an “opportunity” for themselves. Why does Cedar Rapids continue to receive FEMA funding when FEMA is BROKE? Officials started projects based on ‘potential’ FEMA funds were spent before any funding was approved or received..
City Officials had a plan.

Instead of allowing people to recover, officials created and fostered a division between the East and West side of town. They have done this by design by burying residents/homeowners in red tape, drawing arbitrary lines through historical neighborhoods (120 year old tax bases), and blaming FEMA for drawing the lines through the neighborhoods and that they are at fault for the slow recovery. I called FEMA and they deny drawing lines through our neighborhoods and said that our city officials who applied for the buyout.

I know this much is true. Cedar Rapids officials drew arbitrary lines in the name of FEMA and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in the name of flood protection. Again, I called FEMA and USACE about the historical neighborhoods and both agencies say that the city, drew the lines. One man from the USACE even went as far as calling the scenario that I was explaining to him sounded illegal and would qualify as ‘coercion in a voluntary property acquisition’.

Conversations with the Council meeting at Roosevelt Middle School in Cedar Rapids 2009

Officials have since given property where the original property owners could not rebuild on to developers who can and will profit from after millions of tax dollars from FEMA and HUD were used to acquire the properties. Non-profits with incestuous connections and city staff have taken advantage of funding meant for disaster victims for their own profit.

Buildings that were barely touched by flood water, like Public Works, will be razed (and replaced with brand new buildings) while buildings like the Time Check Recreation Center sit abandoned and untouched for the last three years.

Millions of dollars of tax payers dollars have been invested/promised to a small area within a three block radius on the east side of the river in the name of “flood recovery” no one located in the Greedway or CONstruction (the areas people lived in) zone will be helped. Instead of being helped their Constitutional Rights have been violated and they are labeled as ‘stubborn‘ and ‘radical’ for wanting to save what’s left of the American dream.

Please allow me to explain my position. I love my 111 year old riverfront home in NW Cedar Rapids. The city offered a buyout. This buyout was supposedly ‘voluntary‘ but people who lived in my area were denied assistance. People were told they couldn’t rebuild. This after ONE major flood.

People’s houses were ‘tested’ by environmental companies hired by the city who deemed them environmental risks. In turn city inspectors came by and wrote tickets for these houses being ‘nuisances’ so that FEMA funds could be used to demolish them.

We were under a ‘revitalization’ program (more federal money) at the same time that this flood happened. In fact, our last inspection was to take place on June 17, 2008 because we were part of the Weed and Seed initiative in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I did turn it in but got the run around over the phone. The house I refer to in this video was demolished before the homeowner was paid. The homeowner couldn’t back out of the buyout if they wanted to!

I was born and raised in this city and I firmly believe that we would have fully recovered from the 2008 flood if we weren’t taken advantage of during this time of chaos. Many people were told that they couldn’t rebuild and were forced to move into houses they couldn’t afford. If given the chance to do it over we could have done this without tearing down our best houses because we are “can do” kind of people.

Cedar Rapids residents have been fighting the city and FEMA and will continue to stand up for American tax payers because we understand the value of our freedom and know first hand how fast it can be taken.

About a minute in Mike Augustine at a neighborhood meeting in NW Cedar Rapids complains about the mayor after mayor says tax payers won’t pay “diddly squat” in local newspaper.

(all we have done is pay)

Below are some questions I asked the United States Army Corps of Engineers during their presentation of the CEDAR RIVER CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT PROJECT page 18 explains that the city’s “Preferred Plan” is not supported by the United States Army Corps of Engineers- the most important statement they made was this one: “Specific to the Time Check neighborhood, alternatives containing river’s edge alignments cannot impact
land purchased with funds from the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP). FEMA rules do not allow construction of a flood damage reduction project or protection of lands purchased with HMGP funds. Alignments evaluated through this area, therefore, had to be set back accordingly and could not be placed near the river’s bankline.

None of the flood damage reduction alignments along the west side of the river met required economic criteria in order to establish a Federal interest. Economic justification was found for a few of the alternative alignments on the east side, out of which a Recommended Plan was identified. The local sponsor, City of Cedar Rapids, ultimately has the decision whether or not to proceed with the Recommended Plan.”

The following video is from one of the open forums put on by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is Larry. Larry’s house is gone while just two blocks away millions of dollars have been invested in a two block area known as Czech Village. What kind of village has no villagers? The “village of GREED”!

This video is not a plea for donations because these homes are no longer standing. This video is to show the world that there used to be a Village here.
