Mt. Trashmore Trail do you use it?

Mt. Trashmore Trail

I’ve been thinking about checking out local trails and rating them but I haven’t figured out DSCN9488a rating system or whether or not people would even be interested.
On June 1, 2013 the Cedar River flooded. One trail that was underwater was the trail along the dump also known as Mt. Trashmore. I saw a video last week that had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time here’s the video!

Riding the Mt. Trashmore Trail while it is underwater is dangerous. Thankfully, this man knows this trail and how rivers work but I wouldn’t suggest doing anything like he did to anyone. I enjoyed the video.

Checking the water line at Mt. Trashmore

Get up to 5 new .COMs, $5.99 per year for the 1st year! I wanted to see just how high the water got and so my friend, Jim Pate, and I went down there to get some footage of the flood line and the Mt. Trashmore Trail on June 12, 2013.

Mt. Trashmore review

We saw a lot of people using the trail and knew that they smelled the same things we did. The Mt. Trashmore Trail has got to be the most vile smells of all smells in Cedar Rapids, Iowa next to the ADM plant. The Mt. Trashmore Trail is not a trail that I would suggest to anyone, especially a newcomer. I just wonder if you use the trail and if so, why?

Flood Watch 2013

Flood Watch 2013

We had a flash flood the day before yesterday and a flood similar to the flood of 1993 that is to crest tomorrow, June 2, 2013.  I have lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa most of my life and one thing that stays the same during each of these floods and that is the water has to have somewhere to go.  A few feet could make all the difference in the world for people who went through and continue to have water problems since the 2008 flood.

Flooding in Cedar Rapids

I don’t think we would have the sewer problems we have if the city would just work with the DNR to dredge the riverIf the city council worked as hard for flood protection as they have to acquire and demolish homes and businesses we would be so much better than we were before the flood of 2008.

March Against Monsanto Mainstream Media MIA

Monsanto & the Mainstream Media

Monsanto is trying to monopolize the world’s food supply with their sustainable patents on seeds. Monsanto is the bully in the agricultural world.  They have taken farmers to court to sue them for their land because one of their seeds blew in the wind onto the farmers land! Monsanto has their own police force that doesn’t need your permission to go on your land or go through your storage bins. Furthermore, they are not afraid to sue you if one of their patent protected seeds blows onto your land! Farmers lose with Monsanto.

Mainstream Media from Russia

I heard nothing about the Monsanto protest on television on the mainstream media.  I had to go to the internet to see coverage of the event.  It was pouring down rain here in Iowa where there was a scheduled march in Des Moines and Iowa City (neither of which are farming towns) but there wasn’t one word from the media about it.

What’s wrong with this picture? Where is the mainstream media on Monsanto having special protection from court prosecution if their genetically modified food is proven to be dangerous? If Monsanto is so confident with their product then why do they not label their goods?
Thousands perhaps even millions of people marched in protest against Monsanto on May 25, 2013 in the United States and around the world and there wasn’t a peep about it on the mainstream media. Not one peep about Monsanto and their genetically modified foods.  Not one mention of Monsanto‘s crimes against humanity.  Nothing about their part in the creation of Agent Orange, a chemical used during the Vietnam war that killed American soldiers years after exposure, including my father.

Monsanto is protected by the mainstream media and the federal government!

‘Monsanto Protection Act’ might be repealed in Senate

Monsanto has been afforded their own protection under the so-called Monsanto Protection Act signed into law earlier this year caused such an outrage that people around the world are planning to protest the biotech company later this month. Now a United States senator is expected to try and repeal that law.”

“Deep within the nearly 600-page spending bill, Section 735 includes language that lets biotech companies that experiment with genetically-engineered and genetically-modified crops test and sell lab-made products even if legal action is taken against them.”

I do not trust Monsanto with our food supply. I do not think that our livestock should be fed  the genetically modified plant. You ever hear the saying “you are what you eat”. I I do not wish to be a piece of property owned by Monsanto.
Roundup is a insecticide made by Monsanto. Do they own your yard just because you might use their product? Does Monsanto think they own the people or livestock that ingests their patented product?

Monsanto has called Section 735 “a positive step to ensure US farmers and our food chain are shielded from supply disruptions caused by litigation over procedural issues unrelated to sound science or the safety of biotech crops.” Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) told Politico earlier this year that he co-authored the language of the amendment along with Monsanto. Previously, Blunt received $64,250 from Monsanto to go towards his campaign committee between 2008 and 2012.

Mainstream Media MIA at March Against Monsanto

The media was all over the “pink slime” but say nothing about Monsanto or the outrage that consumers and environmentalists were expressing dissatisfaction with the systems blatant government protection of the company.  The Federal Drug and Food Administration is headed by a Monsanto associate! All the information is in these videos if you choose to watch them.

RE: Northwest Recreation Center Site Selection Task Force

Letter to the city council and the Northwest Recreation Center Site Selection Task Force

I know the Northwest Recreation Center Site Selection Task Force meets tomorrow and that they are in charge of selecting the site for the Time Check Recreation Center replacement and I want to make certain my concerns are heard if I am unable to make it to the meeting.
Is the plan still to build on this “preferred” spot that just flooded?

559739_10151293993466370_810435224_n

The “preferred” site for the replacement of the Time Check Recreation Center

“Sina said the city might need to cut down 600 trees to make way for the recreation center on the Q Avenue NW site” http://thegazette.com/2011/09/26/panel-recommends-ellis-for-rec-center/
Couldn’t we instead appeal to FEMA to go with the Ellis Blvd site by Time Check Park? At least it doesn’t flood “every year”. I would be willing to write in favor of that site but I will fight tooth and nail against anything being built in Ellis Park especially after the last few days!
Here’s a video I made today hoping to have input (even though we already went through the neighborhood planning process and had our opinions asked over and over until we’re blue in the face). I am concerned that our input as a community still hasn’t been taken seriously. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecckNCbx1Dk

Please take this into consideration when choosing the site.
This ice jam flood reminded many of us who went through the 2008 flood just where the river fed into the neighborhoods before coming out of it’s banks! Please train someone to run the dam to control this better in the future.
Thank you,
Ajai Dittmar

Flooding Flashbacks

The city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa flooded in 2008. It was horrible. Thousands of people were impacted and the city has milked FEMA for all they could since it happened.
ellis
Why isn’t the water going into the “greenway”?

My neighbor Connie (who was not in a good mood) wanted to check out the neighborhood! I want to apologize to anyone that I might have sounded grouchy towards.

The river is supposed to crest by 8 pm and it’s after 9 pm now and we haven’t been swept away and the basement is still dry! It would have been nice if the city would have managed the 5 in 1 dam better and dealt with the sewers properly.

Say No to Drones

Senator Rob Hogg doesn’t have the time to consider SF 276 – He would rather surrender himself to the mercy of the drones…

It’s only a one page bill, but apparently having Senator Hogg sit down to read it and mull it over is too much to ask.

Please contact Senator Hogg, ask him to give SF276 the consideration it deserves and schedule a hearing ASAP.

You see, Hogg is the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Without Senator Hogg scheduling a committee hearing on SF 276, our common sense drone regulations are dead in the water.

With political leaders like Sen. Hogg being too lazy to consider a one page bill, it’s no wonder our country is in such bad shape.

That type of “leadership” is completely unacceptable.

Please contact Senator Hogg, ask him to give SF276 the consideration it deserves and schedule a hearing ASAP.

Living in a police state enforced by flying robots is not an option.

So here at Liberty Iowa, we are going to do everything in our power to persuade Senator Hogg on the dangers that drones pose to our liberty, privacy, and peace of mind.

Tackling the special interests and established politicians is not easy.

In fact, it is very expensive in time and money.

If you share my disdain for the robotic police state being erected around us, please donate generously to our cause.

Every dollar donated is carefully spent advancing the cause — by fighting back at the aloof tyrants who are too busy to read a one page bill and fulfill their duties as a legislator.

Even $25 – a half tank of gas- goes a long way in unleashing the political power of our all-volunteer army.

Thank you for your attention to these very important matters, and for your dedication and commitment to the cause of Liberty.

Faithfully Yours In Liberty,

Jeff Shipley
Chairman
Liberty Iowa Legislative Committee

P.S. Failure to consider a one-page bill is unacceptable! Please contact Senator Hogg, ask him to give SF276 the consideration it deserves and schedule a hearing ASAP.

FEMA pays city the cost to replace the Time Check Rec Center; city intends to use a school modular classroom this summer to serve the neighborhood

http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/FEMA-Rejects-Plans-for-Recreation-Center-in-Time-Check-177088741.html

Now they want to take the money from the recreation center that they neglected to clean out and put it across town! How about they build their own recreation center without taking the money from ours!

Eye on the Island

Two pieces of news on the flood-damaged Time Check Recreation Center:

At noon Tuesday, the office of Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, announced that the Federal Emergency Management will pay the city $1,638,155, which is the amount FEMA has determined is the cost to replace the building. Harkin’s office noted that “biohazardous conditions within the facility” at the time of the FEMA inspection convinced the agency that the flood-damaged building could not be renovated.

Also this week, the City Council is expected to approve an agreement with the Cedar Rapids Community Schools, which will let the city use the school district’s existing modular classroom at Harrison Elementary School as a community resource center from June 15 through Aug. 14. The resource center will serve as a temporary neighborhood center to serve some of the functions that the Time Check Recreation Center did.

Colloidal Silver Testimony

When I first heard of colloidal silver I was intrigued but I was also fearful.  I mean don’t want to turn blue but I was in a bind and I had to do something!  Times are tough and I cannot afford to visit a dentist. If I could afford to visit a dentist would have already so lecturing me about it will not help.

My tooth hurt for one day when my face swelled. Thankfully, I had already ordered the colloidal silver off Amazon.com before my face swelled up three times it’s normal size.  It hurt so bad.  It was swollen for three days when the colloidal silver finally came in.

Not at my best with a swollen jaw

Not at my best with a swollen jaw

I know people have turned a bluish color from excessive use of colloidal silver.  I do not plan to use it in excess but after my recent experience I will be using it in the future for other ailments as they arise!

Agenda 21 Is Being Rammed Down The Throats Of Local Communities All Over America! What will you do about it? Did you even know about it?  Agenda 21 is not something a lot of people talk about or even believe is happening in America.  But it is happening in America and it’s happening right here in our own city! Don’t believe me!  Please do your own research! You can see my sources by clicking on the links (by clicking on the words themselves) that I’ve hooked to each of these chapters listed above.
So how is this being done? Well, after Agenda 21 was adopted, an international organization known as the “International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives” (ICLEI) was established to help implement the goals of Agenda 21.

<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/zqkURXGcylI&#8221; frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>

At 1:11 Governor Branstad acknowledges Agenda 21.  Even though he says he doesn’t support it and claims that he has tried to stop it at the state level he hasn’t and likely won’t!  If he was truly trying to stop this from happening he would be more aggressive about it! If he was truly trying to stop Agenda 21 at the state level he could easily do it simply by talking about it– in more than one video!

So, when you hear the word “sustainable” don’t be fooled it doesn’t mean sustainability for America it literally means sustainability for the United Nations and the “One World Government”.
