Greg Hughes for Congress District 1 Iowa

I feel that all of our elected officials should be good stewards of our money and practice fiscal responsibility. As your representative to congress that’s what I would do. Our children and grandchildren cannot afford perpetual debt that these politically savvy lawyers have gotten us into and we can’t afford to put a new one in office.

We must stop the systematic destruction of the family unit. Around a billion dollars of our tax money is spent to operate our court system every year. That isn’t enough for the Supreme Court who will be asking for an  increase of $175 million of our tax money to continue running their ineffective court system.

I am the Chair of Iowa Child Support Advisory Committee to the Supreme Court and I have been made aware of judges who hand out bad rulings! Did you know that some of our veterans are being jailed for being behind on their child support? One Iraq veteran was given 60 days in Fort Madison for being behind on his child support after he was laid off. As your congressman, I vow I will stand up to bad judges.  I feel that the punishment far outweighed the crime in this case. Locking people up for financial debts does not make fiscal sense!

It’s time to retire bad judges and throw all the lawyers out of elected offices! Vote for me, Greg Hughes, for Congress on November 6, 2012.
