Founder of Cedar Rapids Tea Party Endorses Rod Blum for U.S. Congress

I have had the opportunity to meet and discuss the issues with both Republican Candidates running for United States Representative for District 1 in Iowa. After reviewing both their positions on all of the issues and intentions, and after careful consideration, I have decided to endorse Rod Blum for Congress.

Rod Blum has been a successful business man and entrepreneur for his entire professional career, creating jobs and balancing a budget. Rod Blum understands the inner workings of the private sector and economy. Rod is a man of character and integrity, who stands apart from many of the other run of the mill, status quo politicians.

Congress currently receives an outrageous $175,000 salary per year. Rod will only accept the median income for an American of $39,366 as his Congressional pay showing that he is going to serve the people of Iowa, not his own interests. Rod also will work to bring a balanced budget, while ensuring we take care of the needs of our seniors and the military. He has a strong understanding of the Constitution and I believe he will use this important document as a guide for his decisions and votes while serving in Congress. He has made the voluntary pledge to serve only 3 terms in Congress and has no desire to become a career politician.

Rod Blum is the only candidate with the experience and skills needed to defeat Democrat Bruce Braley. Rod will go to Washington DC and represent us as a citizen legislator.

Rod Blum will work for the interests of the people of Iowa, while full filling his oath to defend and protect the Constitution. I am honored to endorse Rod Blum as the Republican Candidate for Congress in US House District 1.
