Ben Lange to Debate Primary Opponent May 21st in Cedar Rapids

INDEPENDENCE, IA – U.S. congressional candidate Ben Lange has accepted an invitation to participate in a 1st congressional district debate sponsored by the Five Seasons Republican Women of Cedar Rapids.

What: 1st Congressional District Debate

When: Monday, May 21st, 7:00pm (Doors Open at 6:30pm)

Where: Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Hall – RM 234 – Auditorium, 6301 Kirkwood Blvd SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404

KCRG-TV9 has expressed interest in broadcasting this event and the Lange campaign is hopeful such coverage will be possible.

Lange has participated in multiple joint appearances with his primary opponent thus far, and is looking forward to additional joint appearances in the future for the benefit of voters in Iowa’s 1st congressional district. Lange’s opponent was also offered the opportunity to participate in debate at an April forum in Benton County but declined to respond to the invitation.

Ben Lange is a faithful husband and loving dad to three little girls. He grew up in a working class family in Quasqueton, IA. He was the first in his family to earn a four-year college degree. Ben was the 2010 Republican Nominee for U.S. Congress in Iowa’s 1st congressional district. After winning his Primary by 30 points, he united the Republican Party and, despite being outspent by Braley’s campaign committee nearly 5 to 1, Ben held Braley to less than 50% of the total vote and fell short by a mere 1.95%. Today, Ben has established one of the state’s best organizational and financial infrastructures. He has recruited a Steering Committee consisting of a broad coalition of activists, officials, and community leaders to help guide his candidacy, and he has earned the support of Republican state senators and representatives throughout the new 1st district.
