I am a delegate from Linn County Iowa. I am a Ron Paul supporter and I feel like my candidate has been ignored since coming second in the Iowa Straw Poll on August 13, 2011.
I have seen Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, and Ron Paul in person. Of all the candidates, Ron Paul is the one that resonated with me. He made so much sense! He touched on almost all the issues that really matter to the average American.
I wonder if only radical pro-life people participate in the grueling platform process? Perhaps the average Republican is really pro-choice? All I know is the people that attended the platform committee I was at were people who are totally against abortion. They spent hours and hours debating life issues on March 10, 2012. I have a difficult time believing any true ‘pro-life’ person is comfortable with the establishments pick, pro-choice advocate, Mitt Romney.
During the platform committee it was made clear that the presidential nominee needed to be pro-life and support the pro-life agenda ‘from cradle to grave‘.
Are American’s shallow? Mitt Romney is probably the prettiest candidate in the running on the republican ticket but is he even a republican? I wonder if he’s even read the Constitution!
* * *
Our troops are Ron Paul’s top contributors!
The only true pro-American, pro-life, pro-liberty, conservative candidate in the running is Congressman Ron Paul. Ron Paul has rock star status! Ron Paul’s campaign has energized the youth vote. He relates to the average American. His support is swelling on the ground and the republican’s are still stuck on the frontrunner picked by the mainstream media!
While the mainstream media touts Mitt Romney as the “front runner”, Ron Paul supporters all over the country are taking over the Republican Party from within. Will there be a brokered convention? Chances of that happening are high.
The mainstream media is stuck in the rut with Romney.
If the true goal was to “beat Obama” than why are the establishment Republican’s running with someone who is parallel to Obama?
Democrats know Romney will be easy to beat.
Anyone paying attention knows that there is something fishy about this presidential nomination!
In Alabama ballot machines were unplugged and reset.
In Alaska the new GOP Chair prevailed victory for Ron Paul.
In Iowa, the GOP Chair, Matt Strawn, quit and AJ Spiker, a Ron Paul supporter, replaced him. Ron Paul supporters took positions of power within the states central committees.
In Louisiana, Ron Paul won the caucus but there isn’t any real media coverage.
Then there is Maine, need I say more?
The gig is up.
Romney is no different than Obama. If the Republican Party really wants to “beat Obama” then we need to elect Ron Paul.
The media has picked enough presidents. It’s the people’s turn to pick our president!

I know for at least a month or more my Gazette comments ONLY show up to me. So, friends tell me they cannot see them. I would have preferred to get this letter indicating I was banned, instead of them just screwing with my comments. Frankly, I never violated rules, like getting personal and such. Yet, posters who I wont name(they know who they are) can make personal attacks, because they are Obama supporters. The Gazette board has been a joke for a very long time. So, i am glad I am not wasting my time there any more.

Sorry for going off topic. But since PradvaMedia has decided to heed some of the pleading, groveling on their knees elected officials request that “critics” be silenced from commenting on 2/3 of the news sources in this river city… I think you will understand. I finialy received a answer to a very reasonable request from a newly appointed managing editor….. who in my OPINION needs to learn what journalism actually is. Along with a few select reporters. Who most obviously only want to have only one side of the story told. Journalism—- American style. Yea. NOT.
“Craig, I will not be sending you documentation, and the decision will not be rescinded. A group of regulars, including you, who were dominating the conversation were banned from further commenting. Monopolizing the conversation is a violation of the rules.”
That answer above is beyond laughable and shows an unprecedented level of arrogance The last sentence is a blatant mis-representation…. and should be considered an opinion, not fact. Monopolizing is a violation of rules…… yet out-right, non truths are not. Its a sad day when the media have such LOW STANDARDS, and journalistic ethics are but of long lost importance.

I just can’t believe how many people are considered ‘aggressive’ by our local media.
May 1st, 2012 at 11:51 pm
“Aggressive” is one thing our local media will never have to worry about being labeled with. To be aggressive one, must ask questions….I rest my case.
I will wear my being ‘blacklisted’ (their terminology) as an honor….. considering the influence, they evidently feel my written words carry. Now that is funny, I must say so myself. 🙂 Good grief.

Kevin Curl
Anyone else get this?
Kevin,
I regret to inform you that you are no longer allowed to comment at TheGazette.com for consistently monopolizing the conversation, as well our resources. Gazette staff have had to repeatedly work with you on acceptable commenting – so much so that our moderators spend a disproportionately large amount of time moderating your comments.
This action is the consequence of a pattern of behavior, not any one comment. This decision was not made rashly. You have had ample time and opportunity to change behavior.
This is not a violation of your freedom of speech. You are free to create a website of your own and share your opinions there for an audience of your own making.

I don’t comment on there enough to care if they banish me! I have been banished from the KCRG Facebook wall for YEARS without any explanation at all whatsoever.
