Jean Leaf for District 4 Cedar Rapids City Council

Jean Leaf was approached by a group of people to run for city council in District 4 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. District 4 was hit pretty hard by the 2008 floods and we haven’t been able to recover because of the current administration and their narrow views of the “future of Cedar Rapids”.

These people claim that the citizens of this city came up with the “Preferred Plan” but that is simply not true. I know this because I was at every single neighborhood planning meeting that the city held talking about this very issue. I am the only flood impacted person that brought young people to the table. It was my idea to go to the high school to talk to the young people there. Did I ever get recognition? NO! That’s how this city works! Rarely do the people that are responsible for good ideas get any credit for them.

For example, Monica Vernon talked about an article the mayor “found” warning us about the flood in 1967. The mayor didn’t find that article, I did! I am the one who gave it to the mayor!

Jean Leaf is the only candidate running in District 4 that isn’t a regurgitated politician or realtor. Jean Leaf is the only one running in District 4 that has the best interest of all the people involved in mind.

About Ajai Dittmar

There is nothing 'radical' about wanting to save your historical neighborhood! There is nothing 'negative' for wanting an 'outside investigation' done a public service that has had a lot of embarrassing news, especially when they don't do their jobs! There is nothing 'odd' about wanting politicians to uphold the Constitution they swear to uphold when they are sworn into office! Follow @sibzianna View all posts by Ajai Dittmar
